McFadzean Cup

Closing Dinner

Prize-giving

We managed 8 rinks with 31 curlers on the ice. If our junior had been more careful with a chisel we would have had 32! As usual some the same people kept turning up during the prize-giving. If you care to check the table below you will find the photo league joint winners are Shona, Robert and Lou with 4; Willie, Chris, George, Allan, Jim S. and Murray were close behind with 3 each.

Grudge Match

What follows is an unbiased report from our reporter at the match:

Victoria League

The Winners of the Victoria League are Allan Ferguson, Jim Smith, and Chris Clow (Corri Wilson was the 4th member of the rink, but she dropped out at the start of the season). The runners-up and winners of the Wee Cooper Medal are Stuart Bates, George Hunter, Murray Hutchison and Carol Hamilton.

Allan skipped the winning rinks in both the Victoria League and the Dodd Teapot League.

Eglinton Jug

Rink 1 lost to Ayr Juniors. Rink 2 beat Kilwinning and lost to Stewarton Heather (a tough draw).

Parish Trophy

Tarbolton beat Dundonald and lost to Kyke & Carrick.

Gangrels Match

Tarbolton won both games in this annual match: Willie Morton 12, Bob Cherry 4; Jim Wilson 7, Jim Henry 6.

Our invited oppostion this year was Kirkmichael. Tarbolton won 2 games to 1:

Ross Low

Robert and his rink won the Ross Low, beating Dundonald in the semi-final and Troon Portland in the final.

She's two times a winner

Margaret Morton played third in the winning rinks in both the Medal League and the Coulson League.

Medal League

The Tarbolton Medal and Cooper Cup were won by Jim Smith, Margaret Morton, Shona Brown and Jim Jack. Runners-up and winners of the Nicol Cup were Robert Struthers, Duncan Todd, Chris Clow and David West.

The Coulson Cup was won by George Hunter, Margaret Morton, Carlos van Heddegem and Mike Reekie. Runners-up and winners of the Billy Wells cup were Jim Wilson, Allison Bell, David George and Murray Hutchison.

Robert Struthers and Peter McClure won the Jim Smith Pairs Cup. Runners-up and winners of the Big Cooper Medal were Willie Morton and Campbell M.

Robert and his rink came good at the end, taking 6 points from the last four games.

The score was entered incorrectly here for the 3 Dec game between Willie and Robert. Robert won. the table has been corrected.

Results

Competition results are up to date. With three games still to be played, the Medal League has already been won by Jim Smith and his rink.

Ayr Ice Rink

Opening Day

The Tarbolton rink of Robert Struthers, Willie Morton, Jim Smith and Carlos van Heddegem won their session with a good win against Stair.

Challenge League

Tarbolton CC did not enter a rink in the Challenge League in 2013-14.

Last Season's

Closing night

The McFadzean Cup, dinner, prizegiving and raffle all seemed to go well.
