Interclub against Land o'Burns

This report is late because one second didn't provide a game card to the secretary.

Tarbolton beat Land o' Burns 14 shots to 9. Tarbolton have now won 3 times to Land o' Burns twice with one game peeled

George Hunters rink Niall Mackie, Gregor MacQuarrie and Jim Jack beat Colin Martin’s rink 12 shots to nil and Carlos van Heddegem's rink of Jim McFadzean, Allan Ferguson and Joe Hayes lost 2 shots to 9 against David Balmer's rink.

Coulson League

With Jim McFadzean absent his rink was skipped by Chris. They lost to Jim Wilson, who is the winner of the Coulson League.

Parish Trophy

We were unable to field a rink and so withdrew.

Coulson League

In his penultimate game Carlos scored 5 ends against Robert but lost the last end by 5 and so lost the game. Tthe winner of the Coulson will be between Jim McFadzean and Jim Wilson unless they peel and let Robert in.

Dunlop Memorial Salver

Carlos van Heddegem won the Dunlop Memorial Salver.

Tarbolton beat The Country Club, Irvine and Land o' Burns. Lost to Mauchline, Disnae and Beresford Ladies.

Tarbolton beat Darvel and Ayr & Alloway 1. Lost to Gangrels 2, Auchenames, Galston 2, Troon Portland 2 and

Troon Portland 3

Interclub v Gangrels

Tarbolton played The Gangrels for the Wilkie Trophy beating the Gangrels by 14 shots to 12.

Niall Mackie's rink of George Hunter, Duncan McNaught and Jim Jack beat Jim Dunlop's rink of Peter Reynolds, Donald Cattanach and Jimmy Begg by 11 shots to 5 and by 5 ends to 2. Jim Wilson's rink of Carlos, Chris Clow and Derek Murchie lost to David Gray's rink of Gillian Watson, Earnest Mutter and Bob Cherry by 3 shots to 7 and by 3 ends to 4.

The games were very enjoyable and were followed by dinner.

A very sociable and enjoyable evening.

Since the trophy was first presented in 2002 Tarbolton have won on 12 occasions to Gangrels 8.

Ross Low

 

Robert's rink of Niall Mackie, Chris and Jean Pearce played in the Ross Low 30th January beating Ayr and Alloway 7 shots to 3. Last week we lost to Dundonald by a lot. Last game in the round robin next week when we play Gangrels and if we beat them will be in the semi finals. Fingers crossed.

Paterson Horn

We lost the Paterson Horn to a reduced Fairywell. Only 2 rinks and then they could only manage 3 in each rink. George's rink of Allan Ferguson Chris Clow and Jim Jack lost to Alan Sloan's rink of George McNaughton and John McWhirter 4 shots to 9. 4 ends each. George down 7 shots after the first 2 ends and then it was a really tight game.
Stuarts rink Niall Mackie, Carlos and Hugh Callander lost to Mark Peroni, Keith Rennie and Alison Alexander 5 shots to 8, and 3 ends to 5. Stuart was ahead 5 - 3 going into the 6th end. So overall 17 shots to 9 for Fairywell.

John Dodd Rosebowl

Day League C

Tarbolton 2 plays in Day League C. No results have been posted.

Day League B

No result for the game against Ayr on 10th October has been posted on the Ayr CC website. In the second game, 24th October, Tarbolton 1 lost to Troon Portland 2: 1 end and 2 shots to 5 ends and 8 shots.

Finnie Kettle

Carlos van Heddegem's rink of Stuart Bates, Kirsty Harvey and Chris Clow lost to a team skipped by Ernest Mutter 4 shots to 11. The south won the competition with Crosshill skipped by Bobby Ireland winning the Kettle. The Tarbolton game was much closer than the result suggested and the dinner afterwards was a very sociable occasion.

Eglinton Jug

The Tarbolton rink of George Hunter (skip), Allan Ferguson, Chris Clow and Joe Hayes beat Land o' Burns in the 1st round but lost to Fairywell in the second.

Dodd Teapot

The Dodd Teapot was won by the rink skipped by Derek Murchie.

McFadzean Cup 2021-22

This competition was held over from last season due to the early closure of the ice rink.
