Closing night

The McFadzean Cup, dinner, prizegiving and raffle all seemed to go well.

As usual there were some people in too many of the photos - you know who you are!

Dunlop Memorial Salver

Congratulations to Robert Struthers skip and Margaret Morton third for winning the seniors' DMS. This is a league of 12 rinks. Tarbolton CC has taken to this competition:Willie Morton and David McClure (also with Margaret as third and Ian as second)) have both won this in recent years.

Cue Bonspiel

Congratulations to Willie Morton for skipping the winning rink in the Willie and Nessie Mair Memorial Cue Bonspiel.

With the exception of the McFadzean Cup, which will be played on Sunday 17th March, all competitions are now finished. The winning rinks are:

Grudge Match

Our foreign correspondent Carlos has sent us this report on the Grudge Match:

Story of the game!!
CVH 6-1 up after 3 ends and lying 3 in the fourth end but I was greedy and nudged him in for one!! Stupid
Final score 9-8
It's worth reporting I was playing with a broken big toe!

Interclub v Gangrels

This annual fixture has seen some close matches. This wasn't one of them. Tarbolton won both games: 10-2 and 14-1. The trophy was presented to the highest-up skip, Willie Morton.

Highlander Bonspiel

Tarbolton honorary member Willie Morton was third in the winning rink (skip Tom Neil, second Bill Alexander, lead Logan Middleton). Prizes were presented by sponsor Jim Martin.

Jim Smith Pairs

The first round was played on 18th February, with two close games. The first two pairs were on the ice before the bell for the start of the session, so each game managed 4 ends without a problem. Stuart just edged his game against Alex, and Carlos and Jim W had to draw the shot. Jim was in the four foot, and Carlos just at the back of it.

Paterson Horn

Our invited opposition this year, Ayr & Alloway, won by 2 games to 1. John McLeod was the winning skip.

Maple Leaf winners

The Maple Leaf Bonspiel on Sunday 4th October was won by club members John Wylie (skip), Margaret Morton (third), and Andy Dickie (second). The lead was Elaine McClure. The competition was sponsored by Robert Anderson (of Anderson Crawford) who presented the prizes. (Photo: Jennifer Mutter)

Finnie Kettle

Robert Struthers, Willie Morton, Jim Smith, Ian Wilkie lost 2-13 to Kilmaurs. Kilmaurs won the Kettle.

Eglinton Jug

Rink 1: Willie Morton, Jim Smith,Margaret Morton, Ian Wilkie lost narrowly to Sorn 2 (Robert Clark)

Rink 2: George Hunter, Allan Ferguson, Carlos van Heddegem, Shona Brown beat Mauchline and lost to Crosshill in a tight game (George says if he had guarded in the last end we would have won).

Day League A

Robert, Willie, Jim S and Margaret are off to a good start in the Day League.

Kirkland Trophy

Corrie Lawrence is asking for support for the Kirkland Trophy. This used to be a women-only competition but is now being opened to men. It is for new and inexperienced curlers with up to about 5 years experience, and is intended to instruct them in the rules and etiquette of the game. It runs fortnightly throughout the season on Mondays at 12.00. Anyone interested should give their name to Corrie, or contact the office at the ice rink.
