Closing night |
The McFadzean Cup, dinner, prizegiving and raffle all seemed to go well.

Congratulations to Robert Struthers skip and Margaret Morton third for winning the seniors' DMS. This is a league of 12 rinks. Tarbolton CC has taken to this competition:Willie Morton and David McClure (also with Margaret as third and Ian as second)) have both won this in recent years. |

CVH 6-1 up after 3 ends and lying 3 in the fourth end but I was greedy and nudged him in for one!! Stupid

This annual fixture has seen some close matches. This wasn't one of them. Tarbolton won both games: 10-2 and 14-1. The trophy was presented to the highest-up skip, Willie Morton.

Tarbolton honorary member Willie Morton was third in the winning rink (skip Tom Neil, second Bill Alexander, lead Logan Middleton). Prizes were presented by sponsor Jim Martin.

Jim Smith Pairs |
The first round was played on 18th February, with two close games. The first two pairs were on the ice before the bell for the start of the session, so each game managed 4 ends without a problem. Stuart just edged his game against Alex, and Carlos and Jim W had to draw the shot. Jim was in the four foot, and Carlos just at the back of it. |

Kirkland Trophy |
Corrie Lawrence is asking for support for the Kirkland Trophy. This used to be a women-only competition but is now being opened to men. It is for new and inexperienced curlers with up to about 5 years experience, and is intended to instruct them in the rules and etiquette of the game. It runs fortnightly throughout the season on Mondays at 12.00. Anyone interested should give their name to Corrie, or contact the office at the ice rink. |
