Sunday 5th October at 6.00 p.m. (4 rinks) |
The players consisted of as many substitutes as were available, as many of the committee likewise, members who had joined in the last couple of seasons, and a couple of long-standing members to complete the 16. The purpose was to ensure that all substitutes were offered a game early in the season, and that they were known to the committee, and particularly that the new members were welcomed to the club. There were four rinks. A played B and C played D for four ends; then the winners moved and played 4 ends or to the bell. In the event the second game amounted to only 2 ends in one case and 3 in the other - the sessions are only 2 hours on a Sunday. The rinks were: Willie Drummond, John Wylie, Andrew Niven, Charlie Armour Each of the four rinks won one game. Willie and David each had 4 ends, Robbie 3, and George 2. Willie's rink won the match on shots. |
